We are learning to investigate what causes changes in familiar materials.
The first activity we did was the Coke and Mentos experiment.
Here are some of our observations.
First we got the coke out. Next we put the mentos into the coke bottle. Suddenly the coke exploded. I think the coke exploded because the gas and bubbles moved.

First we put the coke on the table. Next we put the mentos in the coke. Suddenly voom, bang. I thought it was going to go slower. The gas in the bottle zoomed up and out.

First we put the coke on the table. Next we tipped mentos in the coke. Suddenly it exploded in the sky like a rocket ship. I think the mentos made the bubbles and gas in the coke move really really fast.

First we put the mentos in the coke bottle. Suddenly the coke exploded out of the top of the bottle. I think all of the bubbles in the coke are made of gas and they moved.

First we put the coke and mentos on the table ready. Next we put the mentos into the coke. Suddenly the coke flew out. I think there was gas in the bottle moving.

First we put the coke and mentos on the table. Next we quickly dropped the mentos in the coke. Suddenly the coke burst out like a rocket. The factory had put carbon dioxide in the coke and the mentos made it move.
